Cultivating active citizenship through service and community engagement.
We aim to bring middle school students together from New York City to strengthen their connection through cultural and meaningful service activities. We strive to build empathy, broaden perspectives, encourage curiosity and foster growth in global citizenship.
The Middle Schools Alliance was formerly called the Middle School Joint Schools Activities Association (JSA). It was established over 30 years ago by the Parents’ Associations of New York City Independent Schools to coordinate social activities for single sex middle school students.
MSA continues on today with activities that are both social and philanthropic for boys and girls in grades 5 through 8 in Manhattan. The MSA serves as a liaison between the schools, the parents, and the community partners that sponsor the events.
